Dove Heat Defense Therapy

By Aldona Tront

How many of us use a blow-dryer on everyday basis? Not to mention the curling iron on occasions… Taking care of “over-heated” hair is very important.  One sign of using too much heat on your hair is severe damage on the ends.  If you see split ends and dull, lifeless ends - it’s probably a sign you’re overdoing the heat.  No need to worry - you’re one of millions of American women that blow-dry their hair everyday in the morning.

There are couple of tips you can use if you think you’re hair is over-processed:

1.  Get a cut - 2 to 3 inches form the bottom.  (You really should be getting a haircut every 6-7 weeks to keep your hair beautiful, shining and growing healthy)

2.  Don’t blow-dry your hair if you’re not going to work, important meeting, interview, date, party.  Try to sort out the really important event form the ones that don’t require too much effort.

3.  Get a masque for damaged hair.  Put it on for about 30 min. on a weekend.

4.  Use a heat-protective spray before you blow-dry your hair.

5.  Try to get a good blow-drier.  Don’t save money on that! It’s crucial!

Dove came up with a solution to over-heated hair problem.  Their new shampoo, conditioner and spray seem to be working.  We would still recommend to get a special damage remedy masque.  The product is doing the job in the smoothness, shine and visible repair department.  On scale form 1 to 5 - Dove did well.  We give it 3.5 :-)

Here is what Dove claims they can do for you:

Heat Defense Therapy System:

  • Advanced Protecting Serum with millions of micro particles protects and strengthens hair from damage caused by frequent heat styling.
  • Gently removes product build up and styling residues.
  • The daily regime that starts heat protection at the washing stage.

Beautiful hair begins with protection & repair everyday.

Damage Remedy Intensive Restructuring Treatment - AVEDA

Form the basic ingredients to the after-wash feel this product is a miracle.  The Bubble Review checked this product out form top to bottom and our final verdict is: BUY.  Bottom Line: If you feel that your hair is dry, over-processed, lifeless, in need of moisture - you need a product that would go deep into your hair repairing it and sealing in the moisture.   Using the power of pure plant oils and quinoa protein, it restores health, silkiness and shine.

How to use it: After washing, smooth treatment from roots to ends, leaving on for about 2 to 5 minutes before rinsing.  For best results, use as part of a rejuvenating weekly ritual, following Damage Remedy Restructuring Shampoo.  One trick that might work if you really want to pamper your hair is leaving the treatment on for the night or at least couple of hours.  If you have time, you can just put it on on a lazy Saturday and walk around the house with it.  It really helps damaged hair.
